# Exposed is focused on those little hidden gems that nobody new – or only a few – before Instagram. These beautiful spaces get destroyed because people share those treasures with the world, and as a result, they get rolled over by fellow ‘photographers’ … losing all the magic they once had.
Instagram has created this issue as today places, people, products are classified, categorized and valued by if they are ‘instagramable’ …
Being ‘instragramable’ became a currency for all sorts visual – if we like it or not …
And, as Instagram is about filters, in this series heavy filtering is used to play with those hidden gems – in a way for them to become abstract, surreal and ‘non-instagramable’ any more … although it won’t protect them by doing so in any way. They got hashtagged and geomarked, so everyone can find them …
